Everything you need to know about booking, referrals, prescriptions, and visiting Purple Clinic.
Local anesthesia numbs the area completely. You may feel some pressure during the procedure, but no pain. The injection itself feels like a brief pinch.
Most minor surgeries take 15 to 30 minutes. Plan for about 45 minutes total including preparation and aftercare instructions.
It depends on the procedure. Cyst removals and excisional biopsies typically require stitches, which are removed at a follow-up visit in 7 to 14 days. Some procedures use adhesive strips instead.
No referral is needed for most minor surgical procedures. You can book directly or walk in. Your physician will assess whether the procedure can be done in-clinic or requires a specialist.
Most medically necessary minor surgeries are covered by MSP (BC Medical Services Plan). Cosmetic procedures may not be covered. We will confirm coverage before proceeding.
Moving your prescriptions to Purple Pharmacy takes just a few minutes — tell us your current pharmacy and we’ll handle the rest.
Prince Rupert prescriptions are handled through Pharmasave’s eCare patient portal. Continue there to securely submit your transfer.
